How to run a Python script¶. Your best way to get started with Python on Mac OS X is through the IDLE integrated development environment, see section The IDE and use the Help menu when the IDE is running. If you want to run Python scripts from the Terminal window command line or from the Finder you first need an editor to create your script.

  • Check out the System.Diagnostics.Process type. That's how any .NET application, including Xamarin.Mac apps, can launch other application including terminal (shell) commands.

    Process terminal = new Process(); terminal.StartInfo.FileName = 'Terminal.app'; terminal.StartInfo.Arguments = 'screencapture kalk.jpg'; terminal.Start();

    And i get:

    The files /Users/aleksandrplesakov/Projects/MyScreenApp/bin/Debug/Terminal.app, /Users/aleksandrplesakov/Projects/MyScreenApp/bin/Debug/screencapture, and /Users/aleksandrplesakov/Projects/MyScreenApp/bin/Debug/kalk.jpg do not exist.

    What i doing wrong?

    App bundles are not executables. They are a special folder than contains the executable, libraries, and resources.

    Normally for a bundle named Foo the executable is found within at Foo/Contents/MacOS/Foo

    You can read more about this here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundle_(OS_X) and in Apple's documentation.

    I set FileName as /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app/Contents/MacOS/Terminal and now terminal is start, but get no Arguments.
